To ensure the long-term reliability of your charging station and the CSMS system, we follow a conservative approach to firmware management. Please review the following guidelines before performing any updates.
Stability First: Why We Avoid Frequent Updates
Our primary goal is the continuous uptime of your charging service.
Prioritize Stability: We do not recommend updating charger firmware frequently. Every update carries a small risk of communication interruptions or configuration resets.
Update Only When Necessary: Only proceed with a firmware update if it resolves a specific bug you are experiencing or if our support team explicitly recommends it to ensure compatibility with new CSMS features.
General Update Procedure
If an update is necessary, please follow these general steps to minimize risk:
Consult the Manual: Every hardware manufacturer has a unique update process (e.g., via a local web interface, USB, or OTA commands). Always follow the specific instructions provided in your Charger Manual.
Do Not Interrupt Power: Ensure the charger has a stable power supply and internet connection. Do not power off the unit while an update is in progress, as this can lead to hardware failure.
Verify Post-Update Status: Once the update is complete, confirm the charger returns to an "Available" status.
