The new Decommissioning feature in Station List is designed to help you manage stations that are either faulty or have faded stickers, ensuring your network stays organized and up-to-date.
OCPP Charger ID and Station ID Mapping
In EV OS, each station is identified by both an OCPP Charger ID and a Station ID. These two identifiers are how we identify, monitor, and control stations in the system.
- OCPP Charger ID: This is a unique identifier assigned by the station manufacturer. It facilitates communication between the station and the central management system.
- Station ID: A unique identifier assigned by EV OS, typically found on the station's physical sticker.
1. Decommissioning Faulty Stations
When a faulty station is found to be faulty and needs replacement:
- New OCPP Charger ID: The new station will replace the existing one with its own OCPP Charger ID.
- New Sticker: The replacement station will also receive a new sticker with its Station ID.
2. Decommissioning Stations with Faded Stickers
For stations that are still operational but have faded or damaged stickers:
- Existing OCPP Charger ID: The OCPP Charger ID remains the same, as the station is still functioning.
- New Sticker: The station will receive a new sticker with an updated Station ID.
