The Uptime Report provides a detailed breakdown of how long charging stations were operational or unavailable within a specific period. It tracks uptime, downtime, and the reasons behind outages, giving insight into station performance and reliability.
Charging point operators, utilities, and government agencies, especially those offering incentives, often use this report to ensure charging infrastructure remains reliable.
This report helps stakeholders:
- Monitor station reliability: It helps ensure stations are functioning consistently and identify patterns of outages.
- Analyze downtime causes: By categorizing different types of downtime, operators can pinpoint whether issues are due to network failures, hardware problems, software glitches, or external factors like vandalism or grid issues.
- Optimize maintenance: The report guides decisions on when and how to schedule maintenance to minimize impact on users.
The Uptime and Downtime Statement page presents a summary of your charging stations' current status. Key metrics, including Total Stations, EV OS Uptime Percentage, and Network Uptime Percentage, are presented in a purple box for easy reference. Alongside these uptime metrics, the two top Downtime Reasons are also displayed, giving an immediate overview of the primary causes behind station unavailability.
- EV OS Uptime Percentage: The uptime percentage of EV OS. This figure is influenced by events like software-related issues and unscheduled maintenance.
- Network Uptime Percentage: The network uptime percentage of EV OS, accounting for external factors like OCPP firmware and misconfiguration events as defined by authorities and regulations.
Below these metrics, the Other Downtime Reasons section lists additional reasons for downtime that fall outside the scope of uptime calculations such as natural disaster or home/private chargers. Both the primary downtime reasons and Other Downtime Reasons are presented in a yellow box for clear distinction.
Downtime Reasons in EV OS:
- Communication Down: Default downtime reason when the station is unreachable.
- HW Related Issue: Station hardware failure, such as physical damage or error codes.
- SW Related Issue: EV OS is down.
- Misconfiguration: Incorrect station configuration.
- Electric Grid Related: Electrical supply to the station has been interrupted.
- Cell Provider Related: Downtime caused by a mobile network outage.
- Vandalism: The station has been intentionally damaged.
- Force Majeure: The station was damaged due to a natural disaster or other uncontrollable events.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Planned downtime for EV OS updates or system improvements.
- Unscheduled Maintenance: Unexpected downtime due to urgent repairs or system issues.
- SW Provider Failures: Downtime caused by external service disruptions (e.g., AWS, MongoDB).
- OCPP Unavailable: The station has been manually set to unavailable.
- Home/Private Chargers: Downtime does not apply to home and private chargers.
