What is OCPP Charger ID?
The OCPP Charger ID is a unique identifier which is necessary for communicating information from the station to our EV OS platform. Sometimes during the commissioning process, things might be input incorrectly, so it's important to check these details. In the event that your OCPP Charger ID is not correct, you can take the following steps to remediate that.
The nomenclature for the OCPP Charger ID varies by manufacturer, as well as the details comprising the ID itself. For example, Lite-On unit ID's are typically identical to their serial number, and are referred to as Charge Point ID, while some Zerova stations may be a combination of serial number & model type.
Updating the OCPP Charger ID
To begin the process of updating your Station ID, you will need to login to your EV OS account, expand the options pane on the left hand side as well as the Assets drop down menu, and then select Station List as seen below:
From there, your view will default to the highest level of access you have from your Site Directory. You can select any sites nested within this view to sort your station list, or simply search for the station ID you plan to edit directly.
Once you have located your station, you can click the Edit button under the Actions field, which will prompt you with another menu.
From this menu you can modify the OCPP Charger ID to match that of your station. After correcting, click save at the bottom of the menu to finalize this change.
